Tyra Spaulding dazzled with her participation in the 2023 Miss Universe Jamaica pageant, becoming a finalist in the beauty pageant. Since then, she had remained very active on social media, and her sudden death at age 26 has shocked her followers.
The statement announcing the sad news was posted on the Miss Universe Jamaica organization’s Instagram account, along with several photos and a video of the young model’s parade in a gold evening gown.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of the beautiful Tyra Spaulding. She was a radiant soul and an extraordinary human being,” they said in the post.
“Her light, grace, beauty, and kindness touched every person she met, and we keep Tyra’s family, friends, and loved ones in our deepest prayers as we remember the beautiful life she shared with us,” the organization added.

According to People magazine, the Jamaican Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed that on the night of Tuesday, September 23, Spaulding was found dead in her apartment in Kingston, the capital of the Caribbean island.
Tyra Spaulding family called emergency services, but paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Authorities indicated they are not ruling out any hypothesis until they analyze the evidence and obtain the results of the autopsy.
According to People magazine, the investigation is being classified as a suspected suicide. The young woman had a YouTube channel where she posted weekly, where she talked to her subscribers about her daily life.
Five days before his death, she uploaded her last video, where she spoke on camera about the personal struggles he was going through.
“I’m a girl who went from questioning everything, even life itself, to sharing my journey of finding light amidst the chaos. From deep conversations to opinions and everyday adventures, this channel focuses on growth, honesty, and a touch of fun,” the model wrote in her channel description.
“If you’ve ever felt lost, curious, or just needed a reason to smile, you’re not alone. Stay a while and let’s discover this beautiful chaos called life together,” she concluded.
Tyra Spaulding loved ones and several friends shared on social media that Tyra had been suffering from depression for several years. She was an accountant by profession and was undergoing therapy after quitting her job.

“I’m fighting for my life right now, in a battle with myself. I feel like I need to get out and do something because my mind is trying to kill me,” she expressed concern.
“I don’t recommend quitting your job to anyone going through something similar, because I really feel worse since I’ve
been out of work,” the young woman had said.
Tyra was a volunteer with the Pursued International Foundation , which is dedicated to raising awareness and supporting women victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.

“The Pursued International Foundation family mourns the loss of our dear friend and sister, Tyra Spaulding, a joyful, intelligent, and dedicated woman who served our survivors with genuine care and advocated for their dignity,” they said in a Facebook post.
“She was a lovely soul who brought joy to our team. Often, it’s those who know pain who can best give to others with true understanding. Therefore, we honor our sister. We will miss you, sweet Tyra,” they concluded.
