Victoria Federica: The Rising Star of Spanish Royalty

Victoria Federica – In recent years, the daughter of Infanta Elena de Borbón has made a name for herself in the world of fashion and social media: what are her passions, how does she get along with other members of the royal family, and where is her career heading?

The granddaughter and niece of King and Queen Victoria, Federica de Marichalar y Borbón, has emerged as an influencer. The royal family’s “it girl” gained tens of thousands of followers almost instantly when her Instagram profile became available: around 60,000 in the first 24 hours alone.

Educated at schools such as San Patricio School in Madrid and St. George’s in La Moraleja, after completing her A-levels, she began studying Marketing and Communication at The College for International Students, a prestigious American university based in Madrid. However, she decided to drop out after a year and a half to seriously pursue her influencer career. Since then, we’ve seen her at numerous award ceremonies, and each of her outfits has become a trend.

But, in addition to turning her passion for fashion into a career, Victoria Federica’s many facets are coming to light. In the summer of 2024, she starred in a much-talked-about commercial promoting the series The House of the Dragon. She has also made the leap to television with the competition show The Challenge, which has brought together numerous celebrities (including Cayetano Martínez de Irujo’s ex-wife, Genoveva Casanova). In a chat with Vicky Martín Berrocal, she confessed that her self-importance made her feel on edge during the recording of this program.

What noble title does Victoria Federica have?

Since birth, Victoria Federica has held the title of Her Excellency Doña Victoria Federica de Todos los Santos de Marichalar y Borbón. She also holds the title of Lady Divisera Hijadalgo of the Ancient and Illustrious Manor of Tejada. Her noble title, therefore, comes from her father, who is a Knight Divisero Hijadalgo of the Ancient and Illustrious Manor of Tejada. As the granddaughter of King Emeritus Juan Carlos I and niece of the current King Felipe VI, she is part of the Spanish royal family but not of the Royal Household, which means she does not perform official duties.

She has a special relationship with his grandfather, King Juan Carlos I.

Both Vic and his brother Felipe adore their maternal grandfather, King Emeritus Juan Carlos I. On numerous occasions, he has expressed not only his affection for the monarch but also his deep admiration for the role he has played in the recent history of our country. He refers to him as a role model and also considers him his favorite person.

Who is Victoria Federica’s stylist?

Since Victoria Federica’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week back in 2021 alongside her father, Jaime de Marichalar, her appearances have been increasingly applauded and talked about. Her slender figure and ability to transform everything she wears into fashion have fueled her rise to fame. But who is behind her outfits?

The person responsible for her growing success, which began after she came of age and has grown exponentially, is Víctor Blanco. Their alliance came about almost by chance. A mutual friend introduced them, and they connected immediately. Victoria Federica trusts him completely, and he has been responsible for transforming her image and turning her into the style icon she is today. Of course, as she said, Victoria always brings her own vision to every look.

Who are Victoria Federica’s friends?

As Victoria Federica revealed to Vicky Martín Berrocal on her podcast, the young royal is very clear about who approaches her out of a true sense of friendship and who does so out of self-interest. That’s why most of her circle of friends have been with her for many years. Among them is Tana Rivera, the daughter of bullfighter Fran Rivera and Cayetana Martínez de Irujo. The two have been friends practically since they were children. Another longtime friend is Rocío Laffón, daughter of jockey and businessman Manuel Laffón, María García de Jaime (a fashion influencer, like her), and Tomás Páramo, her husband.

As a bullfighting enthusiast, there are bullfighters among her friends, although the most notable is Roca Rey, with whom she went on a bullfighting tour of Peru in 2022. And, although she considers herself a very shy person, there are some “new friends” in her time as an influencer: the TikTokers Marta Díaz and Lola Lolita are some of them, and also the sisters Marta and María Pombo. Her closest circle could not be missing her older brother, Felipe, and her cousin Irene Urdangarin, with whom she likes to spend time, especially in the summer, when they both have more free time.

Private life

Regarding her romantic life, her only known and official relationship was with DJ Jorge Bárcenas, with whom she was for approximately three years. Although she has been linked to various partners, the young woman confessed in an interview that she prefers not to talk about her romantic life, mainly out of respect for the other people involved. However, she clarified that she has had far fewer relationships than have been publicly attributed to her.

Today, the niece of King Felipe VI continues to live with her mother in an apartment in the Niño Jesús neighborhood, in the Retiro district, near the park of the same name. Although her relationship with Infanta Elena is excellent, as has been seen on numerous occasions, she also shares a strong bond with her father: she shares his love of fashion with him, while she inherited her passion for horse riding from her mother.
