Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again made a controversial comment on social media regarding DNA testing.
In an Instagram post on February 21, the actor said that any woman who refuses to have her child tested for DNA is “hiding something.”
Yul Edochie’s post reads:
“Any woman who refuses to do DNA test on her child when it is demanded, is hiding something. Don’t fall for any excuse she gives to you. She is hiding something. A clear conscience fears nothing.”
As expected, Yul Edochie’s comments sparked a heated debate that received mixed reactions from social media users.
While some accepted his stance, others criticized him, pointing out the inconsistency of his statement given his turbulent personal life especially his highly publicized divorce from his first wife, May Edochie, and his controversial second marriage.
Yul Edochie’s personal life has come under intense scrutiny in recent years. The actor, once admired for his stable marriage to May Edochie, shocked fans when he publicly introduced Judy Austin as his second wife in April 2022.
The revelation, which came with the announcement of the birth of his son with Judy, sent social media into a frenzy and deeply hurt his first wife, May.
May Edochie, who was married to Yul for more than 17 years and shared four children with him, was deeply saddened by the revelation.
She later filed for divorce in 2023, citing emotional distress, infidelity, and public humiliation.
