GoFundMe Launched for Kofi Adomah’s Surgery Fund

After Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, who was shot in the eye and is currently battling, underwent a series of surgeries, a GoFundMe account has been set up to cover the Ghanaian journalist’s medical bills for yet another upcoming surgery.

The campaign, titled Support for Kofi Adomah’s eye surgery’, was launched by popular Ghanaian blogger Magreheb.

According to a statement on the GoFundMe page, the fundraiser was necessary because additional surgeries are still needed.

The statement also said that those responsible for Kofi Adomah’s current situation, especially those directly involved, have neglected him.

“Some of the surgeries have been completed, but there are still more to go. The cost of these surgeries is substantial, and the people who were supposed to take responsibility have decided to do nothing about it,” part of the statement reads.

Meanwhile, as of February 21, 2025, a total of €4,339 has been raised to reach the €50,000 goal.

What led to Kofi Adomah’s current situation?

A few months ago, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, along with his team from Angel FM/TV, Kofi TV, and MagrahebTV, traveled to Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono region of Ghana to cover the Dormaa Kwafi Festival and the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu II.

While covering the event, one of the gunmen shot Kofi in the face, causing serious damage to his eyes and requiring emergency surgery in both eyes.

Although he was recently flown to Dubai for surgery, Kofi Adomah is expected to undergo another surgery to ensure his full recovery, thanks to the kind support of people like Ibrahim Mahama.

He has since received support from gospel musician Nacee, who has been actively encouraging people on social media to donate to the GoFundMe account.
