Holidays series to watch urgently this summer

series to watch

Your vacation may have already started, or you are looking forward to it. This moment of free time can be an opportunity to watch series that you haven’t had time to see during the year. We have selected five gems to enjoy without moderation.

Holidays series to watch urgently this summer

Black Mirror

Four years after a somewhat disappointing season 5, Black Mirror is back on Netflix< /span>. The British anthology series was able to rectify the situation. If it focuses a little less on new technologies, its creator Charlie Brooker remains a keen observer of the rise in power of AI and the excesses that surround it.

With its golden cast, this new season is well worth the detour. Let us cite Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Salma Hayek (Frida) , Ben Barnes (The Picture of Dorian Gray) Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim), or to Zazie Beetz (Joker, Atlanta).

Relentless

Acharnés takes place in Los Angeles, where a man and a woman pass each other while driving in a parking lot and narrowly escape an accident. An altercation breaks out between the two and it is the beginning of a mechanism made of revenge which will end up turning against them in a dangerous, but also incredible, way.

This series is a little gem of writing and production that we didn’t see coming. The two characters of Amy and Danny go very far and it even ends up giving chills. Don’t miss this gem broadcast on Netflix.

Extraordinary

Extraordinary is the perfect series for your vacation. In a world where everyone is endowed with superpowers when they turn 18, the heroine Jen (25 years old) has none. This situation leads to many incredible and hilarious situations.

According to everyone who has seen this series, the laughs keep coming and the humor hits the mark. This original creation is also marked by a real depth and sensitivity which is reminiscent of Fleabag (one of the best series of all time from my point of view).

Daisy Jones and the Six

In this series, we follow the rise and fall of a rock band in 1970s Los Angeles. This production is itself inspired by a novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid. In form, this original creation takes up the codes of the documentary, which makes us think of the style of The Office but much more serious.

We find ourselves immersed in the life of this collective by following the concerts and the recording of the albums, but also the joys and dramas of these musicians. Don’t miss the ten episodes of this gem broadcast on Amazon Prime Video.

The Last of Us

HBO has succeeded in its adaptation of the famous video game on the small screen. We are immersed in a post-apocalyptic world, where two heroes Joel and Ellie (Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey), must survive among human beings infected by a mysterious fungus which makes them very aggressive.

We can only salute the fidelity to the game, but also certain episodes which are breathtaking. It is an understatement to say that we are waiting for the sequel, as the finale of this first season leaves our two heroes with a very delicate unsaid.

Greek Salad (bonus)

Fans of The Spanish Inn should not miss Greek Salad, the series by Cédric Klapisch. In this original creation from Amazon Prime Video, it is the children of Xavier and Wendy, Tom and Mia that we will follow. This production addresses many social themes (ecology, gender identity, immigration) and immerses us in Athens in a very realistic way.
